1811 December 26th. -- USA, Virginia, Richmond Theater: fire; 160 people died (including the governor and a former U.S. senator from the state).

1845 May 25th. China, Guangzhou, The Theatre: 1,670 people died

1871 June China, Shanghai: 900 fatalities

1876 December 5th. - USA, New York, Brooklyn: Conway´s Theater fire; at least 285 people died.

1881 December 8th. Austria, Vienna: Ring Theater, at least 620 people died

1887 May 25th. -- France, Paris, Opera House: fire; estimated 200 people died.

1887 September 4th. -- United Kingdom, Exeter: theater fire; estimated 200 people died.

*1903 December 30th. USA, Chicago: Iroquois Theater, 602 people died

1908 January 13th. - USA, Pennsylvania, Boyertown: Rhodes Opera House fire; at least 170 people died.

1919 June 20th. -- Puerto Rico, San Juan, Mayaguez Theater: approximately 150 people died.

1937 February 13th. China, Antoung Movie Theater: 658 people perished

1977 February 18th. -- China, Xinjiang: fire in a cinema theatre; 694 people died.

1978 August 20th. Iran, Abadan: nearly 400 people died

1994 December 8th. -- China, Xinjiang region, city of Karamay: fire in a cinema theatre; 324 people, 288 of them school children died.
