[ California Symposium ]
After seven years
in the German Air Force, where he obtained his pilot's license and was
involved in integrated NATO radar air defense, Thomas Torsten-Meyer joined
the staff of the Stuttgart Airport. He received training as an airport
traffic assistant, and went on to work for seven years as Manager, Apron
Control. Torsten-Meyer then moved to Bremen Airport for yet another 7-year
period to serve as Manager, dealing with Airport Training, Passenger Services,
and Ramp Services. Since 1986, he has been Manager for Airport Operations
at Munich Airport, where he deals with a wide variety of tasks ranging
from traffic technology, to organization and control, training programs,
apron traffic, emergency plan regulations, aircraft positioning, taxi
guidance, and winter services. Symposium Mission Statement: To provide a forum for the sharing of knowledge and information, to meet the challenge of the increasing risk of calamities in the growing aviation industry. |
