As the Project Manager for IATA's Aviation Business Continuity Programme, Jerry Allen is responsible for developing the events, products and services that assist business continuity managers throughout the aviation industry to benefit from the understanding and sharing of 'best practice'.

Jerry joined IATA after 21 years of military service with the UK Royal Air Force. Against a specialist background of world-wide air transport operations, he has been involved in crisis and contingency planning throughout his career. His tours of duty have included station manager appointments at Dulles and Calgary airports and in the Falkland Islands.

Most recently, Jerry was responsible for the development of a complex series of Business Continuity Plans to ensure that the Royal Air Force will continue to meet its global commitments under any circumstances. Although the military environment is one in which planning for potential external crises is routine, Jerry encouraged the Royal Air Force to focus also on those internal risks that might effect the delivery of operational capability.

Jerry is also the secretary to the IATA Emergency Response Planning Working Group.
