1989 January 17th. - USA, California, Stockton, Cleveland Elementary School: Gunman killed 5 children and wounded 30 others.

1989 December 6th - Canada, Montreal: Around 5pm, Marc Lepine walked into an engineering classroom at a university with a rifle and ordered two separate groups, men in one, female students in the other. He sent the males out of the room and started executing the nine remaining female students. Afterwards, he continued the shooting spree through the hall, the cafeteria, and upper floor classrooms. There, he shot at the other women before committing suicide. In the end, 14 women were killed and 15 of mixed gender were seriously injured.

1996 February 2nd. - USA, Washington, Moses Lake High School: a 14-year-old student shot 3 people (a teacher and 2 students) to death and wounded another student.

1996 March 13th - United Kingdom, Scotland, Dunblane; Around 9:30, Thomas Hamilton parked his car in the school's parking lot and cut several phone lines on a telephone pole. Armed with two 3-mm Browning pistols, two Smith & Wesson revolvers, and ammunition, he entered the school through a side door. Inside, he advanced while shooting indiscriminately and in rapid succession. Within three to four minutes, he fired fifty-eight shots before shooting himself. 17 people, including 16 five-year olds died, and 14 other were injured.

1997 February 19th. - USA, Alaska, Bethel High School: 16-year-old student shot principal and 1 student to death, 2 other students were injured.

1997 October 1st. - USA, Mississippi, Pearl High School: after killing his mother, a 16-year-old student killed 2 classmates, including his ex-girlfriend, and injured 6 others.

1997 December 1st.
- USA, Kentucky, West Paducah, Heath High School: 14-year-old student killed 3 students and wounded 5 others at an informal prayer meeting.

1998 March 24th. - USA, Arkansas, Jonesboro, Westside Middle School: two 11- and 13- year old boys opened fire at Westside Middle School after a hoax firealarm; 5 people died, 12 were injured.

1998 April 24th. - USA, Pennsylvania, Edinboro, Parker Middle School: at a graduation party a 14-year-old killed a teacher and wounded 3 other people.

1998 May 17th. - USA, Oregon, Springfield, Thurston High School: a 15-year-old teenager carried out a shooting rampage. 2 classmates died and 22 others were injured.

1998 May 19th. - USA, Tennessee, Fayetteville, Lincoln County High School: an 18-year-old student was shot in a school parking lot dispute over a girl by another 18-year-old student.

1998 June 15th. - USA, Virginia, Richmond, Armstrong High School: 14-year-old shooter injured 2 teachers.

1999 April 20th. - USA, Colorado, Littleton, Columbine High School: in the most violent school assault in U.S. history two students, 17 and 18 years old, fired more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition and detonated 30 explosive devices during their rampage. 12 people were killed; 24 students were injured, some of them critically, 160 patients had to be triaged, and more than 2,000 people were evacuated during the shooting. In the aftermath of the violence more than 60 other live explosives were found in and around the school.

1999 April 28th.
- Canada, Alberta, Taber, W.R. Myers High School: first fatal High School shooting in the country in 20 years; 1 student was killed another one injured.

1999 May 20th. - USA, Georgia, Conyers, Heritage High School: 15-year-old gunman injured 6 students.

1999 August 10th. - USA, Los Angeles, North Valley Jewish Community Center: at 10:40 AM, a self-proclaimed white supremacist entered the North Valley Jewish Community Center in Granada Hills, a quiet suburb in the northern part of Los Angeles. There were about 70 children, ages 5-12, and some staff members in the building at the time. The offender immediately opened fire in the front hallway with a machine gun. He shot about 70 rounds and wounded 5 people.

1999 September 15th. - USA, Texas, Fort Worth: a gunman opened fire in a Baptist church during a prayer service. The shooting claimed the lives of 7 people including 3 teenagers. 8 others were injured, some critically.

1999 November 1st. - Germany, Bad Reichenhall: a 16-year-old teenager opened fire from his home in the small town of Bad Reichenhall in southern Germany. 4 people died and 6 were injured in front of the adjacent hospital. It took nearly an hour to evacuate the critically injured.

1999 November 19th.
- USA, New Mexico, Deming Middle School: 13-year-old shooter killed 1 person

1999 December 6th. - USA, Oklahoma, Fort Gibson's Middle School: in another school shooting, a 13-year-old student fired at least 15 rounds from a semiautomatic handgun and wounded 4 students.

1999 December 7th. - The Netherlands, Veghel, De Leijgraaf High School: a 17-year-old student opened fire injuring a teacher and three students. Such incidents are extremely rare in the Netherlands, where gun control is strict and weapons are available only on the black market.

2000 February 29th.
- USA, Michigan, Mount Morris Township, Buell Elementary School: a six-year-old boy shot and killed a six-year-old girl with a .32-caliber handgun.

2001 March 5th. - USA, California, Santee near San Diego, Santana High School: 15-year old student opened fire and killed two students and wounded 13 other people

2001 March 22nd. - USA, California, El Cajon near San Diego, Granite Hills High School: 18-year old student started shooting and wounded 5 people

2003 September 24th - USA, Minnesota, Cold Spring, Rocori High School: A 15-year-old boy opened fire in the weight room and the gym; a veteran teacher talked the boy into handing over the small-caliber handgun. When police arrived, the boy was in the custody of the school's staff; one student died and another was critically wounded.

2005 March 21st – USA, Minnesota, Beltrami County, Red Lake High School: A student killed his grandparents at their home and then went on a shooting rampage with two handguns and a shotgun at a 300-student school on a sovereign Indian reservation near the Canadian border; eight people (a teacher, a security guard, 5 students, and the assailant) died at the school and 12 others were injured.
