Pipeline Explosions

1998 - Nigeria: oil pipeline at Jesse Nigeria exploded when up to 2,000 people had been lining up with buckets and bottles to scoop oil from the leaking pipeline. The fire spread and engulfed the nearby villages of Moosqar and Oghara, unexpected for farmers and villagers sleeping in their homes; at least 500 people died and hundred were severely injured.
